Wendy has looked after my horses for a number of years.  She not only always has up to date, state of the art equipment and a wealth of knowledge, she also goes above and beyond personally for both me and my horses.  I can always rely on Wendy, not only for routine performance and maintenance treatments to keep my horses competing at their best, but she is always there when I need her for an emergency, or an urgent visit.  I can always count on her support and help.

Pixie's Story

"My daughters pony Pixie injured herself in the field last April and consequently broke her splint bone and had lots of associated swelling.

Following 10 weeks of box rest, our vet recommended that I book Wendy to come and treat Pixie as the bone was healed but there was still some swelling., some underlying damage to the suspensory ligament and some scar tissue formation.

Wendy was booked to come every week at first, gradually reducing until her last treatment in February this year (approximately 18 treatments in total). When the vet visited Pixie in October 6 months after the original injury he said that it was one of the best recoveries that he had seen from this type of injury.  Pixie's leg is no longer tender or swollen, she moves as well as she did before and is back to happily jumping up to 1 metre.  I am so grateful to the team that have looked after Pixie and made this recovery possible.

Wendy took time to understand Pixies injury and treated her carefully and methodically having an understanding of the injury and a plan of action. I have been really impressed with Wendy and would highly recommend her!"

Texas's Story

Texas had undergobe surgery for hind suspensory problems aproximately 2 years previously.  Sadly, the original problem was diagnosed by the vet as having reoccured.  The prognosis in this instance would not normally have been favourable.  A course of three INDIBA treatments was undertaken to guage effectiveness.  Having achieved some imporvement, a further course of three INDIBA tretaments were administeres, followed by a veterinary administered cortisone injection and corretive shoeing.   Texas now recieved maintenance treatments approximately once every three months.

Now just look at them go!!

Not Just Horses!

This little guy sustained some nerve damage on his way into the  world.  He was unable to weightbear or lock out his hind leg at all.  He couldn't stand to suckle and was having to be bottle fed.  Some targeted electrothereapies got him up and about, and whilst he wouldn't pass a trot up, he was at least able to stand, feed and begin to thirve.

Jennifer & Lucas

Lucas' body stays in tip top condition thanks to Wendy's regular treatments, invaluable advice and impressive bank of knowledge.  She is the firts person I go to for help and if she doesn't know the answer, she'll know someone who does or where to find it.  Wendy's flexibility and availability when really needed are reassuring, I know when Lucas needs additional care Wendy will always be at the end of the phone and will find time for us.

Jaivon and Dinky

I called Wendy to see our 12h Dartmoor pony Dinky because he was having some performance issues: not wanting to go forwards and bucking, things that we’re totally out of character.  She referred us onto our vets for a lameness exam due to her noticing that he’s wasn’t sound behind. We had a diagnosis of hock and suspensory pain from the vets. Wendy then worked alongside the vet coming weekly to INDIBA him. Wendy’s experience and knowledge has been a total god send in helping get our pony sound again.

We have finished the treatments plan now and have moved onto a maintenance plan to keep him sound and supple.

Without Wendy expertise and equipment my son wouldn’t have his happy pony back.

Wendy has been treating my horse for the past 4 years.  She has an incredible eye and the ability to recognise strengths and weaknesses and provide treatments accordingly.  After each treatment Wendy will always advise on exercises, both ridden and in hand/groundwork to help get the horses looking and feeling their best.  As an FEI Permitted Therapist, Wendy has been able to accompany me to a key event to help ensure my horse was able to perform at his very best on the day at an important occasion.   I am always amazed at Wendy's depth of knowledge.  I can always feel an improvement after a horse has been treated and I would highly recommend Wendy to any horse owner.

fibro.jpg

FIBROTIC MYOPATHY

Fibrotic Myopathy ias a consition effecting the hanstrings of the horse.  Traditionally it might be treated surgically, but few other treatment options are avaiabale and it is difficult to resolve.

In this particular case, regular use of longwave ultrasound on an area scanned and diagnosed by the vet, coupled with veterinary adminsitered cartrophen, was fully resolved with within a few weeks.

Wendy has been seeing our pony for about a year now and has been an invaluable support both to him and me during this time.

I am hugely impressed with her extensive knowledge and easy reassuring way with our pony. He came to us as a "naughty" pony with a big buck! Wendy immediately suggested getting his hocks x-rayed which we did and he was diagnosed with mild arthitis in both hocks. This had caused him to become extremely tight over his back. Wendy has helped with any soreness that he has had and has provided lots of advice on how best to manage him. She has given us specific stretches and exercises to use between sessions. Wendy gives great advice and is usually spot on if she suggests my saddle needs adjusting or his hocks are due for review. Wendy is very good at explaining what she is doing to him whilst she does it and why she is doing it. We have gone from an unhappy tense pony that bucked his rider off regularly to a pony that can be ridden bareback in a headcollar and pops a course of jumps for fun. I hugely recommend Wendy as she is absolutely brilliant at what she does.

Ally & Watley

Wendy first started treating my horse, Watley, over 8 year ago, from a recommendation, after experiencing problems with tension, soreness and issues with his top line.  He is an athletic horse but also very sensitive to the extreme, a small tweak is enough to cause him inward stress and an ulcer flair up.  Wendy has helped, through regular treatment, to keep Watley in tip top condition and at 18 looks great and is competing at British Dressage inter 1.  She plays an important role in his wellbeing.

Wendy is a very knowledgeable, kind and lovely person.  Wendy always takes the horse's welfare very seriously and I trust her knowledge and advice implicitly.  I can not recommend her enough.

When my 21 year old Welsh Cob injured himself in the field my vet diagnosed a pinched nerve in his back, although the nerve had freed itself it left him with what we believe to be a pins and needles type sensation in both back legs. On my vet’s recommendation Wendy visited and treated him with what I call ‘her magic machine’, the vet saw him two days later and was very happy with his progress.  Treatment was ongoing for around six weeks, with Wendy and my vet working together for the best outcome for my cob. I would have been happy for him just to be a field ornament but by the end of those six weeks he had a saddle on again and within eight weeks he was back in work.  My vet admitted to me that at the beginning, he was not sure that my cob was going to pull through and I think that without Wendy’s treatments that may well have been the case, there is no doubt in my mind that Wendy and her ‘magic machine’ sped up his recovery time leading to a positive outcome.  I would not hesitate to recommend Wendy to anybody.

PROUD FLESH

Proud Flesh and Wound Healing

Many people dont realise that physiotherapy can assist in the process of wound healing.

Blue light phototherapy helps to kill bacteria at a wound site.

Red light phototherapy helps to encourage epithelial growth/skin healing.

Together this can help to ensire stitches dont break down and that wounds heal efficiently.  Red light phototherapy is particularly useful in the prevention of proud flesh formation.

Post Surgery Kissing Spine Rehabilitation

Wendy's knowledge and inout into our horse's rehabilitation plan undoubtedly helped her to recover quicker, faster and with a better outcome and prognosis.  She worked closely with our vet at every stage, providing timely treatment throughout the horse's recovery, leading to a successful return to work under saddle.  We are delighted with the success of the rhab, a massive thank you Wendy!

Wendy has treated my three horses for three years now on a regular basis.  She is brilliant at pinpointing problems and treating them.  She is very caring and professional.  My horses certainly benefit from her great knoweldge and professionalism which keeps me a very hapy horse owner!

scar pic.jpg

SCAR TISSUE

People dont always realise the extent to which scar tissue can affect movement and comfort.

Physiotherapy can help to reduce the formation of scar tissue, aiding the formation of healthy repair tissue in the woulnd healing process.

If scar tossue has already formed, physiotherapy can help to soften and stretch scar tossie to help imporove functionality

I think it’s safe to say that I wouldn’t be riding my mare without the fantastic support of Wendy over the past 2 years. After a massive trauma in the pelvis area that left her on 3 legs and resulted in SI injury my vet recommended that her treatment was supported by regular visits from Wendy.

Having worked with many professionals with my horses, from the outset I was impressed by Wendys depth of knowledge and ability to communicate that in simple terms. She has a logical and practical approach that takes into account your horses needs and situation.

It was also a great reassurance that Wendy was working in close consultation with my vet for an all round holistic approach to my mare's recovery. It was a long road to but my mare is back better than ever!  Thank you Wendy!“

INDIBA and PRP

It is not uncommon for vets to use platelet rich plasms (PRP) to aid the healing and repair of tendons and ligaments.  Combining PRP with INDIBA has shown excellent reults, with tissue repair showing much less scar tissue and  more healthy tissue
