Wendy has been working with Reiki for over 20 years now and has experienced beneficial changes in her own life and others' lives. With a passion for sharing her knowledge, Wendy is pleased to be able to offer human and animal Reiki training.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy, an energy which is all around us. Reiki is the name given to a system of energy healing which was developed by Dr Mikao Usui based on many years of study, research and learning across many cultures.
There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive or learn to give a Reiki treatment, the only prerequisite is the desire towork with energy. “Usui Reiki” is Reiki in its simplest form, as taught by Dr Mikao Usui, without the addition of other ideas or beliefs that are sometimes confused with Reiki.
Wendy specialises in teaching Reiki with a tailored approach based on participants' current level of understanding and experience, focused on their individual objectives. The aim is to 'demystify' Reiki, making it accessible and giving you the confidence to work with Reiki at whatever level you aspire to.
Reiki Courses
Reiki 1st Degree - Shoden - Introduction to Reiki
The first level is called Shoden, also known as First Degree Reiki,
Reiki Level I or just Reiki I.
The background and history of Reiki are explained along with
the main concepts and Reiki Precepts.
Student receive empowerments/attunements to introduce them
to Reiki energy and help then to ‘tune in’ to the energy, and are taught
various methods for working with Reiki on themselves and others.
Shoden is taught by a combination of pre-reading and home practice (via a detaild course manual from Reiki Evolutions), and either a one-day face to face teaching day, or a programme of 4 evenings over a month.
Post course support is offered through ongoing telephone and email contact and free attendance at Reiki Practice Sessions for 3 months after the course date.
Reiki 2nd Degree - Okuden - Practitioner Level
The second level is called Okuden, also known as Second Degree Reiki, Reiki Level II or just Reiki II. It is sometimes also referred to as the Practitioner Level.
Students receive further empowerments/attunements and are taught the use of 3 Reiki symbols which further develop the students understanding and use of Reiki.
Okuden is taught by a combination of pre-reading and home practice (via a detaild course manual from Reiki Evolutions), and either a one-day face to face teaching day, or a programme of 4 evenings over a month.
Post course support is offered through ongoing telephone and email contact and free attendance at Reiki Practice Sessions for 6 months after the course date.
Reiki 3rd Degree - Shinpiden- Master & Teacher Level
The second level is called Shinpiden, also known as Third Degree Reiki, Reiki Level III or just Reiki III. It is the Master/Teacher Level, sometimes noted as RMT.
Students receive further empowerments/attunements at master level, deepening their connection to Reiki and further enhancing their intent and intuition. This course also focuses on the role of Reiki teacher, empowering and teaching others both through Western and original Japanese approaches.
Shinpiden is taught by a combination of pre-reading and home practice (via a course manual, CDs and a DVD), and a two-day face to face weekend.
Post course support is offered through ongoing telephone and email contact and free attendance at Reiki Practice Sessions for 6 months after the course date.
Reiki Master (non-Teacher) 1-Day Course
This course is offered for those who with to continue their personal journey with Reiki, deepen their connection to Reiki, but who have no desire to teach others. The teaching aspect can be picked up at a later date if required,
Courses will be held in an informal, relaxed manner, usually at my home near Trowbridge, Wiltshire.
Equine Reiki / Reiki With Animals
In addition to being a Reiki Master-Teacher with many years expeience working with animals, Wendy is also a qualified Animal Physiotherapist with a detailed knowedge of anatomy, biomechanics and the treatment of injury and dysfunction. Wendy is a pssionate believer in combining Reiki with other mainstream therapies and treatmens, and teaches her animal reiki classes with reference to the Vetereinary Surgeons Act and a fundamental underpinning of animal welfare.
Introduction to Reiki with Animals
Based on Shoden, this course focuses on using Reiki with our pets/animals.
Students will receive further empowerments alognside discussion on the nuances and special considerations when treating animals. The course will primarily focus on practicing Reiki with animals (mainly horses, although the principles taught are applicable to all animals). There may be the opportunity to practice on some dogs and the yard cats on the day.
This course is open to anyone who has already completed a Reiki Level I course, or can be taken in conjunction with my Shoden courses as above.
Post course support is offered through ongoing telephone and email contact and free attendance at Reiki Practice Sessions for 3 months after the course date.
Advanced Reiki with Animals
Based on Okuden,this course focuses on treating animals with Reiki.
Students will receive further empowerments alognside discussion on the nuances and special considerations when treating animals. The course will primarily focus on practicing Reiki with animals (mainly horses, although the principles taught are applicable to all animals).
This course is open to anyone who has already completed a Reiki Level II course, or can be taken in conjunction with my Okuden courses as above.
Post course support is offered through ongoing telephone and email contact and free attendance at Reiki Practice Sessions for 6 months after the course date.
WHY HORSES?
Horses are my passion, my therapy business is equine based and my experience,
which I hope to share with you, is mainly with horses.
However, this is not the only reason!
Horses are very easy to work with when learning Reiki.
They are very sensitive to Reiki, often give loads of feedback,
generally are trained to stand still and are easy to demonstrate on as they
are big enough to show you clearly what to do!
Reiki Practice / Reiki "Share" Sessions
3-hour informal sessions, open to all graduates of my Reiki courses (also open to other Reiki graduates by individual arrangement - please feel free to get in touch!).
An opportunity to practice your Reiki and be practiced on!
A forum to ask questions, discuss issues and share experiences.
Individual Programmes
Programmes can be individually tailored to suit specific requirements.
You may have some previous Reiki training but want to clarify your understanding, or further your training. You may have experience working on other healing / energy based disciplines and want to incorporate Reiki into your practice.
Whatever your individual needs I will aim to deliver the training you need to support you and help you be successful.

Please include your name, contact details and the course date you wish to book onto.
The cost of your course includes soft drinks and snacks, course materials - pre-reading/books, handouts, your certificate, ongoing advice and support and attendance at Reiki Practice sessions.
A 50% deposit is required on registration, balance payable at the start of each course, with the exception of Reiki Practice sessions which can be booked as a series of 4 on the first date attended, or paid for on arrival at each session.
I hadn't even heard of Reiki until I met Wendy!
She asked if she could treat my horse with Reiki one day (whilst on chiropractic duties) and I was amazed at the difference when I rode the next day.
She later treated me and it helped enormously. Some people later suggested I did a Reiki course, but when I investigated it they all sounded a bit airy-fairy for me. Wendy offered to give me some instruction and gave me some reading to do. We then met up and she discussed various aspects with me in a thoughtful but nonsense free way, followed by the attunements. We met again so I could play with what she had taught me on some horses unknown to me - it was amazing!
Wendy knew I would struggle to believe what I felt if it had been my horses as I know too much about them, so by going to horses she knew the history of, which I did not, she could explain the things I noticed and felt, which gave me confidence in my new found ability!
I now use Reiki on an almost daily basis, and am eternally grateful to Wendy for her training. I would highly recommend her thoughtful and grounded approach to a fabulous life tool.
